Hello!  I'm Cindy, and after retiring from teaching (as a Kindergarten teacher and Elementary Librarian), I decided to start my very own online preschool.  It turned out to be a great decision.  Not only do I make money from my teaching without having to be employed by a school district, I get to decide my own schedule, and run my business the way I want to!

But don't worry if you don't have teaching experience or credentials.  You don't need any type of teaching certification or experience to start your own online preschool!  All you need is the desire to teach.

Most of all, teaching online preschool is FUN!  I get to create fun lessons and interact with kids every weekday.

Here's my story:  Back in 2021, I was searching for an online teaching position (with some of the big companies that run at-home, online education programs for K-12 students).  While there were some positions available, the pay wasn't so great and there were a lot of requirements that would take up most of my time.  Since I like to have freedom in my day, I decided those positions weren't for me.

​

Then it hit me...why not create MY OWN school?  I looked into renting a space, buying furniture, getting licensed, etc. and you know what?  It was EXPENSIVE and there was no way I could afford it.  Plus, now being retired from teaching, I wasn't sure that I wanted all of that responsibility.  Who would cover for me if I was sick?  Could I make enough to pay the rent and utilities and still have a profit every month?  It was risky for sure.  It just wasn't feasible.

But I wasn't giving up.  I thought if those big companies could offer online classes, why couldn't I?  But would anyone sign up for an online preschool experience?  The short answer is YES!  I decided that I really had nothing to lose and everything to gain.  I set up my preschool teaching area in a spare bedroom, used a webcam to record my lessons, set up a simple website to sell my program, set up a payment button, and that was it!  I was in business and I haven't looked back since.

Was it perfect at first?  Nope.  But through trial and error I learned!  I put together a system that would still allow me to have plenty of free time, and make money on my terms.  There was no one to tell me what to do or how to do it...it was all up to me!

But you might be asking:

​

Why would anyone sign their child up for an online preschool experience?

​

• They don't want to send their child to an in-person preschool for personal reasons (health or something else)

• They travel frequently or don't have access to a quality preschool in their area

• They homeschool their child but want to add additional learning and social experiences

​

I have no teaching experience.  How can I be a teacher?

​

• You don't need any experience or any special credentials to teach preschool online.  And I'm here to show and model exactly what you need to do.  You are also free to create your own program however you'd like to design it.  Some different ideas would be to specialize as a bilingual preschool, a religious preschool, a music focused preschool, a math and science focused preschool etc.

​

How does this work, exactly?

​

• Online preschool can be done with pre-recorded videos, live classes, or a combination of the two. Tools like Zoom or Google Meet can be used for live classes, if you want to use them.  However, there's no need to do live classes at all if you don't want to.  Remember this is your business that you can run however you'd like.​
   

• Classes contain lessons and experiences that are age appropriate for preschool aged children and usually last anywhere from 20 minutes to 30 minutes at most.
   

• While I offer guidance, you decide what you'd like to charge for your online preschool.  You can set up a payment link for your preschool families to pay you each month or week.  It is such a nice and FUN way to make money.
